I would have given the venue a lot more stars if the seat quality had been better. Crown regularly run shows in this room but i can think of venues I would rather go in preference to sitting on those awful chairs again. I do not recall anywhere else I have been where this has occurred. The queue during the interval stretched out the entry door with a long wait for relief. I definitely do not want the temporary seating on the floor again. If and when we go to another show in this venue I will try to book one of those seats. In the foyer operated a couple of bars and you could take drinks into the room, some of these little tables were smothered in empty bottles and glasses when we left. Behind the Stalls the seating looked to be permanent and was arranged around small tables. In the row in front of us 4 big people sat next to one small one and the small one had about half a narrow seat! That said the acoustics in the room were good. As the show went on the room got warmer and warmer and my backside got sorer and sorer. However they had no arm rests and you experienced very unpleasant, close body on body with your neighbors all during the show. Fortunately there was plenty of leg room. Only problem was the seats which were narrow, hard, closely packed temporary seats. Please contact our Private Events team for more information on available spaces on or by call5535. The Palms at Crown is a very interesting venue, we saw the Men In Black (Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash) and had front stall seats 6 rows back. For enquiries of more than 13 people or for larger group bookings, Crown Melbourne offer a range of Private Dining options including whole venues.
